Winter Is Coming

The Fourth of July just passed and in terms of heat, we’re really just now getting into the thick of it. So naturally, it’s a little difficult to start thinking about the impending snowstorms that wait on the other side of the winter solstice. Luckily, when it gets cold out, the international past time of indulging in a little booze and spirits keeps us warm! Which brings us to the million-dollar question: Is your beverage program all booze and no presentation?

Think about it. Is everything coming out in the same generic glass? Could a guest repeat the exact same experience at your establishment somewhere else? If the answer is yes, don’t panic. With colder days in mind, we’ve put together a short list of products we’re sure will elevate not only your guest’s dining experience but their drinking experience as well!

Number One

Summer flings are reaching their boiling points as we speak. But as the Sun begins setting earlier every day, those flings turn into romances that get nurtured throughout the winter. And with every great romance comes a fantastic night around a bottle of wine. Which is why we recommend accenting the night with our Telluride Wine Ice Bucket. Rustic wood bound by a strong metal exterior, insulated with premium stainless steel. It’s a great and clean look that can fit well in almost any setting. And with a chilled Pinot Noir resting inside, the presentation is sure to set the night off right.

Number Two

But maybe it’s just been a hard week at work. We all have them. Sometimes the best way to decompress is to go out with a few friends from work and share a couple drinks together. What better way to kick off the weekend than with a few shots? Keeping up with the rustic Telluride theme, we’ve got a condiment tray with shot glasses. This flexible piece of dinnerware not only looks great, but can also be used to sample different beers on your menu, house condiments, and of course serve up some great desserts when its all said and done!
Number Three

Okay so this was supposed to be all drink related, but of course we’d be remiss if we didn’t give a little bit of love to the appetizers necessary to complete a great night out on the town. Sticking with the rustic theme, our Branched Shaped Trays are a great way to deliver your appetizers to guests. Made from nickel, they’re going to last. They’re perfect year round, but in a fall setting they really tie everything together. Whether you’re pairing wines with cheese for that romantic evening or serving up crostini’s to a group of friends looking to take it easy, this tray helps turn heads and sets the bar for what a good night should look like.

Alex Does NYC

We’ve all done it. Out on the grill, sipping an ice-cold brew, then you get the bright idea to pour some of it on the chicken you’re cooking. Your old man might even be the one that convinced you to do it saying, “It adds flavor!” But does it really?

To find out, Alex Raeder recently took a trip out to Jimmy’sNo. 43 in New York City for an event called “Brewed Food.” Billed as a brewing dinner collaboration, Colorado’s own certified Cicerone and Chef Jensen Cummings took the night to teach local chefs how to cook with beer fermentation ingredients and processes.

The result? An appetizer at the reception followed by four courses of complete deliciousness.

As you may have suspected 10 Strawberry Street was there in full effect as the official Chinaware Partner for the event. Our Izabel Lam Ripples collection was a fantastic canvass to bring everything together, and we were super excited to be apart of bringing a little bit of the Rocky Mountains to the Big Apple!

Gotta admit it, its hard not to be envious of Alex. Good people, good food, good tableware, and good brews? We need to start hanging out with the Road Warrior a little more often because she’s clearly having all the fun!

Relax.

We’re halfway through the year and for a lot of people that’s a scary thing to say. You start feeling like maybe you haven’t accomplished enough yet. We all set goals for ourselves at the beginning of the year, and naturally for a lot of us, we end up falling a little short of them. And the truth is, we probably haven’t accomplished enough yet. But that’s okay, relax.

The beautiful thing about only being halfway through the year is we still have the other half to iron everything out and make things happen. Sure you may have missed some marks that you can’t change, but that’s always going to happen. The key is to know what didn’t work the first half of the year and figuring out how to make it works for the second half!

Labor Day & Thanksgiving are the next big Holidays coming around the corner. What are your plans? Are you hosting events? Do you have everything you need to be successful for the holidays? Things to start thinking about as summer begins to close out.

It’s been a great year so far for a lot of people. Our industry is embracing change and new ideas, and we’re happy to be playing a role in making that happen. And if you haven’t already, we hope you join us in finishing out the year strong and on top!

Ruby on 32nd!

Ruby. She is our glue to Denver. If something amazing is happening in the hospitality business for the city, you can bet your bottom dollar that Ruby is there, representing 10 Strawberry Street in full colors.

So when Stones on 32nd opened up in the Highlands (the hottest spot in Denver if you ask us) Ruby was on location to make sure they used only the best tableware! And of course she came back with plenty of pictures to share!

Located in a former Sinclair gas station (remember those guys?) this refurbished location is just too cool not to visit.

Izabel Lam Pond Collection

In terms of dinnerware they’re using our Izabel Lam Pond Collection, some pieces from our Out of the Woods collection, our Bistro collection makes a cameo, and of course the crowd favorite Whittier collection is on site to round out a stellar tabletop collection.

The industrial feel, the great comfort food, the amazing staff, and the immaculate tableware…  what else is there to say? Get there!

Oh and they have a pretty sweet Tardis! #whoviansunite!

Zack Zucker: Yogi Master

If you couldn’t tell from the last newsletter, we had a lot of fun at NRA 2016. Great tabletop, great food, even better people! Along the way we bumped into Dave Turner of TabletopJournal.com, who ended up filming Zack for their “Three for Thursday” video series on YouTube.

Three questions were thrown Zack’s way: How did 10 Strawberry Street get its name, What are the goals for 10 Strawberry Street in the Hospitality business, and lastly, What’s something about you, Zack, that we don’t already know? We’re not going to spoil the answers for you, but definitely check out the video to see Zack in action!
